The background first, then the scales
The table with the ink bottles, the blue and violet background, the two fish left white in reserve, the red taking shape under the brush. Then the scales drawn one by one, the fins that have almost no weight, and the finished work: on the table, and in its black frame with a white mat.

Two and a half minutes from the blank sheet
First the pencil drawing, then the blue and violet inks laid around the two fish left white in reserve. Pink and orange with the brush give the fish their volume, and coloured pencils draw the scales one by one and the veiled fins.
No cuts, no shortcuts: the real time it takes for two fish to come alive on a sheet of paper. It is the most honest way I know to explain what you are buying when you choose a work.
