Messina 2010: first prize for the portrait of John Paul II

On Saturday 18 September 2010 Ganzirri, on the Pantano Grande lagoon in Messina, hosts the eleventh edition of the “Antonello da Messina” International Painting Competition, paired that year with the European “Tindari Terzo Millennio” Prize. It is organised by the Tempo Libero association and the Federico II di Svevia International Academy, Sicily branch.

The works are judged by a jury chaired by Pietro Fratantaro, art critic and rector of the Academy, with Paola Colace, who teaches literature at the University of Messina, the poet Gianni Ianuale and Serena Nicosia. What counts is technique, the strength of the visual message and the originality of the colour.

The First Prize, the competition’s highest award, goes to Davide. At Villa Arcobaleno the cup is presented to him by Serena Nicosia and Gianni Ianuale.
