Davide Cristofaro “Multifaceted artist”

Lecce Fashion Weekend 8

The majestic centuries-old olive tree, the dry-stone walls, the old trullo, the poppies typical of his Land: Puglia.

A common thread between his South and the pure, defined colours of the East and of Africa.

Davide loves the East, loves Africa and ethnic cultures, and blends them into an ensemble of sensual colours, signs and signals of life in mobile cells, seemingly invisible yet present, strong existential signals of love and linear sensitivity.

Artistic, folkloric, cultural and landscape features that establish its belonging, with cultures of other countries that today more than ever find in the uniqueness and singularity of the territory the ideal conditions to integrate and tell their story, an experience that, deep in our consciousness, unites us all with that secret, fairy-tale world found in every wondrous corner of the earth.

The two mini-collections he presented at LFW are all of this, two collections side by side, a fusion of beauty from faraway lands. Davide proudly claims his belonging to his Land and, with the sensitivity that sets him apart, has succeeded in finding a common thread between his South and the desert sand, the outline of the dunes, the pure, defined colours of the East and of Africa, so dear to him and perceptible through his creations.

The same magical contaminations are evident in the clothes Davide designs for ultra-feminine women, soft, feline, mysterious and sensual women who evoke a mood of sophisticated carnality to be grasped… but to be contemplated like Madonnas of bygone times. Colour and pattern dominate his designs; he aims for visual impact, for beauty and for sparking emotions, “UNIQUE” and “EXCLUSIVE” garments that can never be perfectly identical to any other.
