On 4 July 2025 the United States celebrates Independence Day, and that year the celebrations came with an art programme. The International Cultural Association Progetto Angeli A.P.S. took the works on silk of three artists, Miguel Angel Acosta Lara, Paola Zannoni and Davide Cristofaro, to several venues: New York from 4 to 10 July, then Miami from 11 to 14. The project was curated by the association’s president, Aida Abdullaeva. The theme was the day’s own: art that brings different cultures together, on the day that stands for freedom.

Aida Abdullaeva is also the maison’s Brand Ambassador, and she took one of Davide’s scarves with her on the trip. She opened it in front of the Rockefeller Center, on the waterfront beneath the Brooklyn Bridge, beside a mural of flowers and high above Manhattan, with the Empire State Building behind her. The last stop was the beach in Miami, at the foot of a lifeguard tower.

The scarf carries Fanny, a portrait Davide painted in 2013 in mixed media on canvas: a young woman in a wide black hat with a pale ribbon, a purple flower beside her face and, behind her, a stylised jukebox made of relief and dots. From canvas to silk the portrait comes across whole: the face, the flower, the colours of the jukebox.

On Instagram the journey came out in several instalments. On 21 July the video from the beach in Miami, on the 24th the photos from New York, on the 31st the painting and the silk side by side. In August came the close-ups of the face and the scarf worn in the hair.
