In May 2018 we presented four scarves from the Artwork collection: Morena, Rosita, Fanny and Laure. Each one comes from a portrait hand-painted by Davide Cristofaro on canvas with mixed techniques. The scarf is printed on silk and finished with hand-rolled hems.
Details, pointillism, colours, substance: what the eye can almost touch in the painting passes onto the silk, from the face down to the last dot of colour.
Morena
“Warm your heart with our dreams.” Morena is a 2012 work, mixed media on canvas, 80×80 cm, from the Tracce di Mondi collection: a bowed face among bands of colour, gold leaf and black ornaments.
Rosita
“The magic of the dream.” Rosita, 2013, mixed media on canvas, 80×80 cm: a smiling face before a castle, blue mountains and a field of red poppies.
Fanny
“Get up, fight and live forever.” Fanny, 2013, mixed media on canvas, 80×80 cm: a face under a black hat with a bow, a purple hibiscus and a rainbow jukebox bearing the words “Relève-toi, bats-toi et tu vivras longtemps”.
Laure
“Happiness every day.” Laure, 2012, mixed media on canvas, 80×80 cm: a face framed by a black hood, a lotus flower, a dragon and Chinese characters on a purple and green ground.
