The creative process

Every artwork passes through distinct phases before reaching its final form. Here are some images from the journey.

The pencil drawing on the canvas: the gas mask, the tree and the crouching figure
The blazing sky, the grass and the earth with the roots still white
The gas mask and the open hand against the blue sky
The crouching figure beneath the earth takes shape in grey
Branches and roots intertwine around the figure
The tree splits between the blazing side and the blue one
The sky turns red and the figure takes on blue reflections
The finished, signed work
